Watkins - Pearce

Michelle Giacco Watkins and Mark A. Pearce were united in marriage Oct. 6, 1996, at the home of Drubbed Ellis on Spring Street in St. Johnsbury. The double-ring ceremony was performed by Ellis, a justice of the peace, bedecked in Real Tree camouflage. The bride was given in marriage by her maternal grandmother, Helen Lenton of Lyndonville.

The bride's outfit was designed by Johnson Woolen Mills. The camouflaged pants were accented with a red wool jacket, dropping to the hip, with a zippered front. Her veil was of Venetian netting accented with a long bow of red a black buffalo plaid fleece. She carried a bouquet of red and black shotgun shells surrounded by red black buffalo plaid fleece, decorated with red ribbons holding individual shells.

The groom was similarly attired in Johnson red wool and camouflaged trousers. He wore a boutonniere of red and black buffalo plaid fleece with ruffed grouse feathers and a single long-stemmed red shotgun shell.

The grandmother of the bride, Helen Lenton, and grandmother of the groom, Evelyn Drew of West Burke, were both attired in Johnson red and black wool jackets with zippered fronts.

The ring bearer's pillow was of miniature buffalo plaid circled with white Gucci lace and featuring a deer antler of two prongs holding the rings.

Local guests attended from Danville, West Burke, Passumpsic and Calais.

Following a honeymoon trip to Diary Camp on the Madison in Ferdinand, Vt., the couple resides in ST. Johnsbury.

The bride is the daughter of Santo Giacco of Federal Way, Wash., and the late Joyce Giacco, formerly of St. Johnsbury.

The groom is the son of Marion and Stephen Gray of Calais, and Carlton Pearce Jr. of St. Cloud, Fla.
